    Hi Bob,
Happy 2008. You are, as always, in our thoughts and prayers, but with a special emphasis on the state of politics in Kenya. Praying for your safety and the safe of all who surround you seems like such a small thing, but we are helpless to do more. I kow that Papa and God are watching over you.
In the meantime, your folks are beside themselves with worry. Keep in touch with them as best you can, and know that you have a whole league of people who love you, who are praying for Safety and peace in Kenya. Love, Barb & Tom

Man… I am just NOT a computer person. I sent you a message yesterday, and am unsure if it ever was really sent. So I am trying again.
You are in our thoughts and prayers. We love and miss you. I am keeping tabs on the news, and your mom is keeping us informed.
    We love you.
    Barb and Tom
If they evacuate you to Tanzania, buy your godmother some tanzanites, and come home…

    Dear Bob,
I hope that your trip to Mombasa was fun, and poiltically uneventful. I am anxious to hear all about it.
If you find one student that WANTS to learn, they will make the effort to understand. That student will be all the richer in the end, and you will have some a wonderful thing. Even the ones that are not really interested will learn things by osmosis and/or observation… even if it is not about Physics. No matter, you are making their personal worlds better by working with them. A lot of the time, the most valuable things you can teach will not come from the blackboard or textbooks…
Be safe, and know that we are missing you and keeping you in our prayers.
    Much love,
    Tom and Barb

Also don’t forget your promising career as a professional redneck impersonator if the PC doesn’t work out hahahaha :-)

HI, Bob! The Super Bowl will be played tomorrow, and as you probably know, the Patriots could make an historic event of it (I should have said they WILL make it historic) with a win. Here in Fairfield county, it is a challenge to be a Pats’ fan, as most of the people fancy themselves New Yorkers, and thus are rooting for the Giants! I have never been a football fan, but this year, even I got caught up in the game. I wish you were home to see the big game…know you will be on our minds even with the game as a distraction.
By the way, the groundhog saw his shadow today, so we are supposed to be having 6 more weeks of winter. Now i know you have missed winter weather over there, but we have had enough of cold, so this was not the best news we could have gotten!
On a more serious note, we know there are still terrible things going on over there, and we wanted you to know that you are ever in our thoughts and prayers, along with that embattled country. Hope things work out well for you, Bob.
    love, Eileen
